Jennifer Lopez recently celebrated her 46th birthday in a stunning and daring outfit that quickly became the talk of the town. The designer behind the outfit was Vietnamese-American fashion designer Bao Tranchi. The party was held at a club in Southampton, New York on July 25th. The dress featured cut-out designs that highlighted Lopez’s famous curves, which have become a signature of her style.
The dress not only boasts bold cut-out details, but also features a plunging neckline and mesh panels on either side of the back. This outfit brings to mind the sexy and daring style that has been associated with J-Lo’s image, especially her iconic Versace dress from the Grammy Awards 15 years ago, or more recently, the Atelier Versace gown she wore at the Met Gala 2015.
The 46-year-old celebrity was seen holding hands with Casper Smart, her former lover and dancer. Rumors have it that they might be rekindling their romance even though there has been no official confirmation yet.
Bao Tranchi is an American-Vietnamese fashion designer who owns her own brand called Bao Tranchi based in Los Angeles. Her brand is known for its sexy designs, especially the Bodywear collection which features bodysuits that are beloved by many celebrities. Jennifer Lopez’s dress is an expanded version of a bodysuit that was specially designed for her, explaining the cut-outs and mesh details added to both sides.
Bao Tranchi, a fashion designer, has dressed numerous celebrities including Selena Gomez, Rita Ora, Demi Lovato, Kristen Stewart, Jessica Alba, Janet Jackson, Salma Hayek, Christina Milian, Paris Hilton, Evangeline Lilly, and Naomi Watts. Selena Gomez was recently seen wearing one of Bao Tranchi’s designs from his Bodywear collection in Taylor Swift’s music video for “Bad Blood”.
During the London Pride 2015 event that supported the legalization of same-sex marriage, Rita Ora wore a bodysuit designed by Bao Tranchi, along with a rainbow-colored scarf as she performed on stage.
Bao Tranchi graduated from the Fashion Design program at Otis College of Art and Design and was quickly invited to join the Costume Designer’s Guild in the United States. In addition to her own fashion brand, she is also known for designing costumes for films such as Charlie’s Angels, Queen of the Damned, and Hedwig and the Angry Inch.
